My journey home

There seems a quiet calm
Around the departure lounge
As everyone is snugly settled
In their own little spaces
Waiting for the final goodbye
Across frosted glass panels
And large spaces of empty air
All Contended
with their final buy,
of Chocolate dates,
Strawberry perfumes,
And blueberry malts
Bought off the discount shelfs
In a last minute rush
As if it’s their last…
And
there sat at the end
a cute young couple
Arm in arm
In a honey moon tryst
Lost amidst a million love bites
In the full fantasy of their invisible dreams
And there was,
this dusty old man
Clutching onto his immediate reality
A faded dusty green coat
Worn many years long
Torn amidst suddenly, by the
Tragic partings of his only son
In a red car crash
As vivid as it seems
And the battered old lady
Sat regally, by her maid
Smiling at life’s fortunes
And at all that she gained
By the sway of her jeweled robe
In the bold mystery of life’s gamble,
So like the exclusive dying swan.
And the truant little boy
Ran helter skelter
Up and down
In an non descript pattern
As if in blind search of his
Partner wisdom
Lost in the bubble of life
And by her boring singular direction.
And the grandmother
Sat patiently
With her adoring grandchild
Cradling her in motions
Known
Many years past
Recreating worn out symbols
From her fading tired memory
Holding onto her long last.
The round smuggler sat snugly
By his ten crowned stodgy fingers
Playing drums softly upon
His fat obnoxious half covered poncho
In his boldness he deserves
Hiding nothing but his dreams
Of getting richer, faster,
In the honour of his timeless trade.
And the handsome gay couple
Hold each other frighteningly
Knees together
In absolute lock
As if love will play mischief again,
With the colour of their genes
And the tall pretty blonde
Sits straight sticking out her neck
And gorgeous hair,
Like a well weaned peacock
Waiting to show off all her myriad colors
Of her attractive past
Along with her colored finger nails

I sit there and watch
Cynically,
As if in life’s slow motion
I see it all
Regardless of all the excruciating pain
I clutch my broken arm
And await for
my turn
my call
For
my journey home.
